15 Mar Pentathlon to Johannesburg to Raise Money
Kempston Rugby & Football Club – Virtual ‘Pentathlon’ to Johannesburg
We are pleased to announce that from 6th February till 24th July, the KRFC, including our young web designer, Zak Miller, will be undertaking a virtual ‘Pentathlon’.
The Pentathlon will remain fully compliant with any and all current Covid regulations and restrictions. The dates coincide with the start of the Six Nations and the potential opening British Lions test in Johannesburg. They aim to walk, run, swim, bike and row at least 9,755 miles along a scenic route, from Kempston to the FNB stadium in Johannesburg. They’re following a scenic route through Europe to increase the potential for fun and additional events. If they ‘arrive’ at our destination before 24th July they aim to keep going to perhaps make it back to Kempston. The primary purpose of the ‘Pentathlon’ is to raise much needed money for MAGPAS Air Ambulance and also Looseheadz, a mental health charity. #TackleTheStigma.
In what is proving to be very difficult times for all, they will also be utilising the Pentathlon as a platform to aid with the fitness, mental health and general well being of all those involved, including family and friends whenever possible.
